Leisure

Golf

Situated on the School sports field next to the primary school and Community Pavilion is the new Golf Chip and Putt practice area funded by the Ryder Legacy Cup Wales. The practice area consists of a practice putting green with 4 tees and 4 chip areas towards a green with 2 tees. Equipment is available to hire upon request at a reasonable price from the Community Pavilion (there are contact details on the door should the Pavilion be closed) or bring your own. It is an ideal practice and learning area for adults and children alike.
The Golf equipment available is suitable for the very young (Tri Golf) right through up to adult clubs, both left and right handed.

Tennis

Situated on the School yard are 2 tennis courts which are available for community and visitor use outside of school hours. Equipment is available to hire upon request at a reasonable price from the Community Pavilion (there are contact details on the door should the Pavilion be closed) or bring your own.
Please note that the tennis nets are stored during the winter months and are not available.

MUGA (Multi Use Games Area)

A Muga is also available for Community and Visitor use outside of school hours. It is located on the school yard and access is available through the rear of the yard near the Children Park. The Muga is fantastic for playing football, basketball and netball.

(There is no provision to reserve a time slot for these facilities (golf, tennis and MUGA) - access is on a 'first come, first served' basis. It may therefore be necessary to wait for others to finish their game/session)

Childrens Park

The childrens park can be located to the rear of the school and consists of swings, a slide, see saw and roundabout. There is also an adventure play area. This is a fantastic play area for young children and is used regularly by the children of the community.

Wildlife Park

The wildlife park is next to the Train Station car park and is an ideal location to have a picnic. There are many interpretation panels full of information on the wildlife you are most likely to find.  The surrounding area and station gardens are regularly maintained by Dolwyddelan in Bloom and have even won awards! There are seating areas and rubbish bins available and is an ideal location from where to start a walk as parking is also available.

Nordic Walks

Led Nordic Walks leave the Pavilion at 9am every Wednesday morning weather dependant. The walks are led by a qualified Nordic Walking instructor and poles are available to hire. Walks can last up to an hour and a half but generally last no more than an hour. No experience is necessary but please bring suitable clothing and shoes. Nordic Walking is a fantastic social sport and is a fantastic from of exercise as it uses most muscles however it is a sport that is suitable for most people and takes pressure off the lower half of the body through the use of the poles. Please contact Helen at the community pavilion for further information: 01690 750 490. Funding for the Nordic Walking was secured through Lets Walk Cymru.
