Leave the station car park and cycle alongside the gently owing river Lledr. An old miners’ bridge traverses the river before you cross the A470 (caution – busy road). Immediately join a broad forestry track that meanders and climbs towards Moel Siabod. The marked route takes you to the edge of the forest before crossing open moors with far reaching views. A technical descent (caution – this section should be walked if ability and equipment are not suited) links you to a pleasant back road that joins the A5 road near the Ugly House. Cycle up a steep road alongside the cafe to connect to the Marin mountain bike trails. See www.forestry.gov.uk/marin for route maps. Adventurous riders can take the rst marked turn to complete a full circuit (2-4hrs) or follow the same route to join an exhilarating back-road towards Betws-y-Coed. Alterna- tively, further along the road you can join smaller loops of the Marin trail before embarking on your selected route back to Dolwyddelan.
